Every reading journey begins somewhere. For me, it started with a deep conviction that every child and adult deserves the chance to become a confident, capable reader — no matter where they start.

My background in literacy education and advocacy has shaped everything about My Reading Mentor. I have seen firsthand how personalized instruction can unlock a student's potential, especially for those who face the dual challenge of learning English while keeping up with academic content. That experience drove me to build a practice centered on meeting learners exactly where they are.

Through years of working with students, parents, and schools, one truth has remained constant: there is no single path to reading success. Some learners thrive with structured, multi-sensory approaches. Others need focused comprehension strategies or test-preparation support. What matters most is that the instruction fits the student — not the other way around.

My Reading Mentor grew out of that belief. What began as one-on-one sessions evolved into a broader set of programs — including Touch-type Read & Spell, online reading comprehension classes, and TOEFL Junior® preparation — each designed to give learners the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Every reading journey is deeply personal, and the path to literacy looks different for each learner. My own story began with a simple but powerful belief: that with the right support, anyone can unlock the joy of reading — whether they are a child taking first steps in English, an adult navigating a new language, or a student working to strengthen comprehension skills. Over years of working directly with learners and families, I have seen how personalized instruction transforms not just reading ability, but confidence and motivation. Meeting students exactly where they are, honoring their unique strengths, and building on what they already know creates a foundation for lasting growth. That is the philosophy that shapes every aspect of My Reading Mentor, and it is why I remain committed to making literacy instruction accessible, compassionate, and truly individualized.
